Sky Pilot is a stunning mountain above Squamish, offering forest trails, rocky scree slopes, glacier views and a challenging summit scramble. Join my dad and me as we hike from the Sea to Sky Gondola access road, navigate the route towards the Pink Slabs and make the call to turn back when fog and wet rock make the final ascent too risky. The summit will have to wait until next summer!

The West Lion is one of Vancouver's most iconic and challenging hikes. Join me and my dad as we tackle the 21 km route from Cypress Mountain, climb 1,600 m of elevation and navigate the exposed Grade 4 scramble to the summit.

Back in July 2024, I was in the middle of the 900km GR10 hike that crosses the French Pyrenees from Hendaye to Banyuls.

The GR10 is more fun on this stage, with very little road walking, and lot's of small and narrow trail sections through the hills.
